2010 Sweden Gothia Cup Tournament.

My name is William Carroll III, and I am a 12th grade student athlete from South Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, Maryland. I currently stand with a 3.2 GPA, I am a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Government Association, Student Management team and Honor club.

I was recently selected from our state to participate in the 2010 Sweden Gothia Cup international soccer tournament to represent the United States in this special international showcase for youth soccer players from all over the world.

I was selected for this honor following an extensive process by the Program Selection Committee. I will be provided with the opportunity to participate in the training camp located in North Carolina with collegiate and professional coaches at the 365 sports facility, compete In the Gothia cup, interact with other foreign athletes and tour the historical attractions of the host country of Sweden. I intend to utilize this opportunity to exchange experiences with youth from different countries and the opportunity of expanding my goals of attending college.

The program tuition is $3,895.00, which includes the training camp, transportation accommodations, and most costs. In order to participate in this once in a lifetime opportunity, I am asking for your help. Currently I am asking for sponsorship from family, friends and businesses to help alleviate the financial cost. To help, you can send a check or money order to

What inspires you to compete?

God inspires me to compete he gives me the strength to push on and to not give up when everything is against me.

How Many years have you been competing?

Tell us a little about your position:

I am a goalkeeper which is my favorite position and right outside midfielder who has played these positions my whole soccer career. I have improved tremendously by sticking with these positions and over the years have studied the positions of the field to get a better understanding of the game.

William give us 2 goals that you have for the near future:

1.Go to college and get a degree in computer engineering

2. Play professional soccer overseas

What are some of your favorite Hobbies?

Playing soccer, hanging out with friends,spending time with family and playing video games

William, give us 3 strengths that you think makes you the young man you are today:

Initiative, leadership, communication

Why do you like this sport?

I like this sport because it is fun and very challenging. It can be a difficult game but with my mindset I over come whatever comes my way and get the job done.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years:

Continuing to serve the Lord, being a family oriented person and playing soccer overseas.
